WHAT
Donate books for National Literacy Month!
INSTRUCTIONS
Donate outgrown or no longer used books and literary materials for National Literacy Month.

Do donate:

Books: Clean, unmarked, no damage
-
Children's books: No scribbles, recent preferred
-
Textbooks: ≤5 years old, no highlighting
-
CDs/DVDs: Original cases, no scratches
-
Puzzles/Games: Complete, 500+ pieces
-
Sheet Music: Bound
-
Magazines: ≤2 years old
-
Records (LPs): Playable
Do not give:
-
VHS tapes
-
Cassettes
-
Encyclopedias
-
Dictionaries >5 years old
-
Time-Life book sets
-
Reader's Digest Condensed Books
-
Bug-infested/smoke-damaged items
-
School library discards
-
Computer manuals >5 years old
-
Religious pamphlets
Books can be lightly used, but CANNOT be dusty, stained, missing pages, etc. If so, they will not be counted for ANY hours. Used books should be in very good condition, and dusted if needed.
Please note that volunteer hours will be deducted if the books do not meet the above requirements.
WHEN FINISHED
When you are finished, please package the books in a paper/plastic bag with the following information: name, grade, email, event name, and amount of books.
Drop off books at Room WL-2. Make sure to fill out this volunteer event completion google form once you've dropped off the books.
We'll send an email with your hours a few days after you drop your books off!
VOLUNTEER HOURS
15 minutes per book. No hour cap!

This event ends on September 10th. No donations will be accepted after.
